Customized Trips in West Africa
Customized trips to West Africa for groups of friends, families, travel agencies, graduation trips, corporate and incentive trips, photography tours, etc.
We can organize a customized trip for you year-round in Senegal, The Gambia, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Togo, and Benin— countries we know inside and out and in which, along with Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea (Conakry), and Guinea-Bissau, we have extensive experience.
Due to the lack of infrastructure or its poor condition in some parts of Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea, and Guinea-Bissau, we only organize custom tours during the dry season (October through April). We can also include the Bijagos Archipelago in Guinea-Bissau in our itineraries, for which we offer various options.
Depending on the level of comfort and adventure you’re looking for, we can tailor our trips to West Africa to include more or fewer days of camping and hotels of different categories and price ranges.
West Africa isn’t particularly known as a classic safari destination, but depending on the season, a visit to the national parks of Tai (Ivory Coast), Cantanhez (Guinea-Bissau), Mole (Ghana), Djoudj and the Sine-Saloum Delta (Senegal), and Pendjari (Benin) can be a fascinating experience, as each one offers something truly special and interesting.
Of course, you won’t find these West African national parks overcrowded and packed with tourists.
West Africa is culturally overwhelming. Some of the top cultural tours of ethnic groups in the region that we can offer you include the Bedik and Bassari peoples (Senegal), the Tukolor people (Northern Senegal), the Lobi, Senufo, and Tiebele people (Burkina Faso), the Dan and Senufo people (Ivory Coast), and the Tata Somba and Tamberma Valley, Holi people (Benin and Togo).
If you enjoy visiting special, unique, surreal, or historic places, West Africa offers a vast number of them. To name just a few: Yamoussoukro and Grand Bassam (Ivory Coast); Nzulezu and Ganvie, the “African Venices” (Ghana and Benin); Monrovia, Yekepa, and the Nima East Reserve (Liberia); Kenema and Bo (Sierra Leone), the Sindou Peaks (Burkina Faso), the slave forts of Elmina and Cape Coast (Ghana), Saint Louis (Senegal), and Bissau (Guinea-Bissau)
If you love hiking, right now, the best place in West Africa to go on incredible multi-day hikes is Fouta Djalon in Guinea-Conakry. Northern Sierra Leone and the Nimba region also offer great trekking routes.
The best beaches are in Ghana, Ivory Coast, Sierra Leone, and the Bijagos Archipelago in Guinea-Bissau.
What better way to start or end a tailor-made trip than by immersing yourself in huge, colorful markets, enjoying the local cuisine and live music, and—if you feel like it—partying until the wee hours of the morning in one of West Africa’s bustling capitals, such as Freetown, Accra, Dakar, Ouagadougou, or Cotonou?
The cost can vary greatly depending on the areas you plan to visit, the number of days, the season, the number of people, etc.
