Alicia Ortego
My name is Alicia Ortego, and I’ve been a tireless traveler for as long as I can remember.
I’ve been creating content for Kumakonda, and I’ll probably be the one to reply when you email us.
I’ve also been sharing my travel experiences around the world on the blog *El Blog Los Viajes de Ali.com* for more than ten years.
I love Africa, and the proof is that I’ve been traveling around much of the continent for over 20 years.
If you ask me what my favorite part of Africa is, I’d say the Sahel—that place where Black Africa and the Maghreb meet. In this part of the continent—which is currently one of the most challenging places on the planet—I’ve taken some of my best trips: Mali, Burkina Faso, Sudan, and, in recent years, Chad with Kumakonda.
I’ll never forget places like the Dogon Country and Timbuktu in Mali, or Gorom Gorom and Bani in Burkina Faso, not to mention the labyrinthine waterways of Lake Chad and the incredible desert.
