Hello , I have travelled with Kumakonda to Nigeria in March 2026. We spent 2 weeks in the country visiting the south -Kagos and Yoruba country and then the north -visiting Kano and attending Durbar festival. The trip was fantastic , we attended Yoruba ceremony in Abeokuta, another one in Osun and went to see Durbar in 3 different locations. Nigeria is much safer than portrayed in the media, Nigerians are possibly the friendliest people in the world. The tour is well organised, Cristiano -the guide did excellent job. Chris

TRULY AMAZING. Kumakonda really surprised me and my experience was far better than I dreamt it could be.  I have had many cultural trips and this one was one of the best. I have travelled through 163 countries on well over 40 small group travel trips and a few private trips. Some private as no company provided the itinerary I wanted. In all these trips no one did a better job at trying eveything in thier power to get us (the travellers) the utmost in authentic rituals and ceremonies far from cities or largly poutaed areas.  We were in very remote villages or tribal settlements and the ceremonies were not hapenning for us to see.  They were authentic ceremonies that wer very moving and powefull and the experinces sent chills through me and is truly unforgettable.  Not once was there other travellers at these rituals or ceremonies.  Just us, and i am not sure if some ever had travellers at thier festivieis before. There were many obstacles and unforseen problems along the way but Alonso was up many hours before we were and tirelessly  was planning our next adventure long into the night. He was relenless and would not back down from a challenge untill he knew he would provide us with an experince that would fulfill our best expectations.  Wre there problems.... absulutely.  But between alons, Bea and Francesca they found ways around and through these problems with a smile and optomism.  Of all my trips no one whent above and beyond more than Kumakonda. Most of my fellow travellers had been on Kumakonda trips befroe.  Why did they return. Because, they loved every trip they took with Kumakonda.  I do not feel there is any travel company out there providing more culural and authentic experienses with a guide who knows more about West Africa. I always travel independently, but to see the wonders of Chad it was clear to me I needed a professional tour company. Whilst doing a bit of internet research, Kumakonda showed up quite quickly as my favourite and also for relative affordability. The help during booking (visa, insurance) was very good. But the best thing about Kumakonda was the well-organized tour itself and the amazing crew and I was lucky that the whole group consisted of wonderful, like-minded travel people. Magnífica experiencia. Viaje muy interesante a ese lugar tan remoto del Chad, el Tibesti, con unos paisajes increíbles. Agradecer a Austerio Alonso por haber hecho de este viaje una experiencia inolvidable. La organización, el grupo, las comidas todo perfecto, no podría pedir más.

I had been planning this trip to Chad for a long time and on the recommendation of a friend I decided to go with Kumakonda. The trip was long, but I didn't find it difficult or tiring. Whether it was because of the wonderful people in the group or because everything was perfectly organized by Kumakonda, I don't know, but I know that it met all my expectations. This expedition is not for everyone and before you dare to embark on this adventure, you have to say goodbye to your comfort zone and be ready for all the challenges.17 days, including 14 days in the Sahara and sleeping in tents, long drives, limited showers, simple food...The trip wasn't cheap, but for me personally it was worth every cent. I can really recommend Kumakonda and I don't think anyone knows Chad better than them and I hope they don't fly high after these words 😉, but I believe we will hang out again on one of our next trips. El viaje de dos semanas a desierto de Ennedi y lagos Ounianga ha sido sobresaliente. Muy satisfecho del equipo local, con Hamit a la cabeza, conductores y cocineros. También de Francesca, la chica de Kumakonda, que fue siempre alegre y eficaz para llevar al grupo. El viaje es exigente, no es fácil recorrer Chad cuando el asfalto desaparece. He viajado con KUMAKONDA a ANGOLA  TRIBUS Y EXPEDICION A BAIA DOS TIGRES en Diciembre 2025. Ha sido un viaje a un insólito lugar como Baia dos tigres, que recomiendo por su combinación de naturaleza  y arquitectura colonial. Por otra parte el viaje adquiere un carácter étnico con la visita a distintas tribus.
