Summary of this adventure in Africa
We will start in Luanda at the beginning of August (or in Kinshasa at the end of July if you wish to join the DRC trip) from where we will travel to the south of Angola. There we will spend several days travelling through the tribal areas of Lubango, and we will go to the coast to visit the Namib Desert. In the north we will visit the spectacular waterfalls of Kalandula and the isolated enclave of Cabinda, from where we will continue overland to Point Noire in the Republic of Congo.
In the southwest of R. Congo we will approach the Conkuati N.P. and the Diosso cliffs. We will see the best way to continue to Gabon. We will find out if the mineral train to almost Franceville in Gabon is still operating. It is dry season so it is a good time to go into Loango National Park. We will see the best way to do it. We will keep an eye out for any Bwiti ceremonies on our trip. Depending on how many days we have left, we may go in search of baboons in Lope or visit the Ivindo waterfalls.
We cross overland to Guinea Ecuatorial for visit Basat and try to see some mask traditional ceremony. After flight to Malabo

What is a prospective trip?
A prospective trip means that you will discover a new route at the same time as we do. It also means that it will be a real adventure where the route is totally open to change of plans. We will set a place of departure and a place of arrival, the rest may vary, although we would like to establish the essential visits. We will be negotiating and taking transport as we go along. Expenses will be shared between all of us and accommodation will almost always be basic.
On this trip we will take internal flights, 4x4, vans, boats, trains, taxis and even motorbikes if necessary.
If you want a planned route, if you don't like changes of plans, if you want to know where you are going to be or where you are going to sleep tomorrow or if you need a fixed budget... this trip is not for you. If you want to live an adventure and a real expedition of discovery, then welcome.
Kumakonda has a wide network of contacts and knowledge that we will use during the trip. Austerio Alonso, head of Kumakonda, will guide the tour and take care of all the organisation of the trip.
