Trip to Chad at the end of 2019 - 11 days
Spend a different end of the year attending the 5th Festival of Nomadic Cultures that will take place in the province of Guera, in central Chad. Then we will continue to the Zakouma National Park where we will do different safaris.
5th Festival of Nomadic Cultures in Mongo
For three days we will attend the festival that will take place in Mongo, from 29 to 31 December 2019.
A unique opportunity to get closer to the fascinating nomadic cultures of the Arab and Fulani ethnic groups. In these days of festival we will coexist with them, but also with other ethnic groups of the zone that will approach to enjoy this cultural and traditional event. We will spend the nights sleeping in the tents of the nomads and enjoy the local traditional foods.
Some of the activities that we will be able to witness in the Festival of Nomadic Cultures will be the following:
- Traditional dances (Fulani, Arabic, Hajarai)
- Horse and camel races
- Camel, horse and donkey rides
- Concert by zithras
- Gastronomic competition
- Songs and stories
- Forum and debate on sustainable development
- Discovery of the city of Mongo and its mountainous surroundings
The 5th Festival of Nomadic Cultures of Mongo will begin on 29 December 2019 in the morning, around 9 a.m., and will end on 31 December in the morning.
This festival will bring together many participants, but also many others will come to know the cultural richness of the nomadic and sedentary populations of this part of Chad.

Zakouma National Park
From Mongo we will travel by dirt road to Zakouma National Park where we will spend 3 nights in the Tinga Camp.
Zakouma National Park is a remote and wild wildlife reserve and has become one of the most important protected areas not only in Chad, but throughout Africa, offering truly formidable safari experiences.
In the different safaris that we will be able to find with all probability, many of the 66 species of mammals that lodges the National Park of Zakouma like: gyres, buffalos, elephants, crocodiles, jackals, lions, snakes, etc.

The journey back to N'Djamena will take us a day and a half. We will finish the tour to Chad in the capital N'Djamena
