These are the countries that we know pretty well, together with Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea Conakry and Guinea Bissau we have a great experience. Availability from January to October as long as we have no scheduled departures.
In Sierra Leone, Liberia, Guinea Conakry and Guinea Bissau, we only organize tailor-made trips during the dry season (from October to April) due to the lack of infrastructures or their poor condition. We can also include the Bijagos islands in Guinea Bissau on our routes, in which we have different options.
We organize solidarity trips, visiting different NGO projects or solidarity-religious trips combining Catholic missions, cultural and nature visits.
If you are a travel agency specialized in Africa and you are looking for a prospecting or anthropological route we offer you our robust 4×4 truck fully equipped with camping and cooking equipment for groups of up to 14 people in all countries of West Africa. We could also considerate to travel to other countries more far away or with a more complicated visas to obtain such as Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, Republic of Congo, Central African Republic or even Chad. These latter countries would be prospective or new for us as well.
We have camping tents, high quality mattresses, kitchen equipment and water tanks, which allows us to be self-sufficient for several days, away from large population centers and especially away from conventional tourist routes.
Depending on the level of comfort and adventure you prefer, we can include more or less camping days and hotels of different categories and prices.
West Africa is not particularly notable for being a classic safari destination, but depending on the season, a visit to the National Parks of Tai (Côte d’Ivoire), Cantanhez (Guinea Bissau), Mole (Ghana), Djoudj and Delta del Sine Saloum (Senegal), Pendjari (Benin) can be a fascinating experience, since each one of them offers something very special and interesting. Of course these National Parks won’t be crowded and full of tourists.
West Africa is culturally overwhelming. Some of the top cultural visits to ethnic groups that we know in the region are Pais Bedik and Bassari (Senegal) Pais Tukolor (Northern Senegal), Pais Lobi, Senufo and Tiebele (Burkina Faso) Dan Country and Senufo (Ivory Coast) Tata Somba and Tamberma Valley (Benin and Togo).
If you like visiting special places, unique, surreal, historical spots, West Africa offers a great number to be surprised. Some of them, Yamoussoukro and Grand Bassam (Ivory Coast), Nzulezu and Ganvie the African Venetia (Ghana and Benin), Monrovia, Yekepa and Nima East Reserve (Liberia), Kenema and Bo (Sierra Leone), Sindou Peaks ( Burkina Faso), slave fortresses in Elmina and Cape Coast (Ghana), Saint Louis (Senegal) and Bissau (Guinea Bissau).
If you are passionate about trekking, the best site for amazing walking tours in West Africa is Fouta Djalon in Guinea Conakry. Northern Sierra Leone and the Nimba region also offer great trekking routes.
We find the best beaches in Ghana, Ivory Coast and Sierra Leone.
Is there a better way to start or finish a trip than immersing yourself in a huge and colorful market, enjoying the local gastronomy or live music and fancy busy night life until late in the morning in some of the bustling capitals of Africa Occidental as Freetown, Accra, Abidjan, Ouagadougou or Cotonou.
The budget can vary a lot depending on the areas, the number of days, the season, the number of people, etc.
